What is Neuropsychology?

Neuropsychology is the study of brain-behavior relationships. Clinical neuropsychologists are providers who work closely with other medical providers helping to determine diagnoses and prognosis, with the goal to help guide treatment and improve quality of life. Neuropsychological assessment entails comprehensive evaluation of neurocognitive domains, such as memory, attention, and processing speed, among others. Dr. Howard carries out objective, standardised testing to evaluate perceived cognitive symptoms. These evaluations can be done for a variety of different reasons, including:

  • Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

  • Acquired injury, such as Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)

  • Neurodegenerative conditions/medical presentations (such as dementias, multiple sclerosis, movement disorders)

  • General concern over cognitive changes
